Motivation

What is MOTIVATION???

Motivation is generally defined as a" force, stimulus or influence" that moves a person or organism to act or respond.

According to Webster's dictionary motivation is "the psychological feature that acrosses an organism to action" and the reason for the action". The term motivation is derived from the word' motive. The motive is a combination of feeling or condition that causes one to act. It can be for a short period or a longer one. If a child takes a colourfull ball, he plays with the ball but if in the meantime he is attracted to the other colourfull ball or toy then we say that this motive for the first ball was for a short period. But if a player wants to win a gold medal at the international level and he/she works hard for a year to get a gold medal, we say that his/her motive is for a long period.

Motivation is one of the main psychological factors which affects performance. Motivation is that force which incites the individual to performs some activities. It also determines the individual of action and his intensity of the action.
